Q

Macrophage ILs

A

IL1: pyrogen, fever, inflammation, endothelium to express adhesion molecules, induce chemokines

IL6: pyrogen (also by Th2), fever and production of acute phase protein

IL8: chemotatic factor for neutrophil

IL12: differentiation of T cells into TH1, activates NK (also secreted by B cells)

TNFa: septic shock, activates endothelium, recrutis leukocytes, vascular leak

Q

ILs secreted by all T cells

A

IL2: stimulate the growth of helper, cytotoxic, and regulatory T cells

IL3: supports the growth and differentitation of BM stem cell
“ IL3= GM-CSF”

Q

ILs secreted by TH2 cells

A

IL4: induce differentiation to TH2, promotes growth of B cells, enhance class switching to IgE and IgG

IL5: promotes differentiation of B cells, enhance class switching to IgA. stimulates the growth and differentiation of eosinophils

IL6: pyrogen, fever, also secreted by MP

IL10: modulates inflamm response, inhibit activated T cells and TH1, also secreted by T reg.
“IL10=similar action as TGFb”

Q

IFN

A
  • alpha and beta: anti viral
  • gamma: induce MHC I and II expression and antigen presentation in all cells
