When we compare or contrast two or more things, usually we will mention the name of the item once.
and after that use a pronoun.
Frequently happens with possessive pronouns:
My house is red but yours (your house) is white.
His house is red but theirs is white.
Su casa es rojo, pero la suya es blanca
My car is French but theirs is Italian.
Mi coche es frances pero el suyo es Italiano.
Her frames are silver but mine are gold.
Sus marcos son de plata, pero los mios son de oro.
Our brand is cheaper, theirs is expensive.
Nuestra marca es barata, pero la suya es caro.
Their house is dirty but ours is clean.

Her books are in the kitchen but mine are in the living room.

He keeps his money in the bank but I keep mine in the mattress (el colchón).
