what are operations
Operations is a core function of any business and involves the management of the resource inputs by processing them into outputs (the final good or service).
what is the operations managers responsibility
source high quality material inputs, increase competitiveness by using technology to increase the level of quality of goods or services, increasing productivity by decreasing costs and waste and increasing the speed of delivery to the customer.
what is operations management
the process of effectively coordinating the inputs, processing and completing a finished good or service
what is the operations system
series of processes an organisation undertakes in order to create its outputs of finished goods and services through the transformation of inputs, including raw materials, capital equipment, labour, facilities.

the amount of outputs in relation to the inputs used measured over a period of time.

the business’s ability to match or better its rivals in a given market. Competitiveness is achieved when a business has lower costs, improved quality or increased
speed of delivery relative to competitors.

what is the relationship between operations and objectives
operations management is the coordination of resources within a business to achieve the efficient and effective output of goods and services. producing high quality products at low price fulfill a market need. Using stratergies such as robotics to increase accuracy, improve quality, and meet market needs improves effetiveness. Using stratergies such as automated production lines to make more goods with fewer resources will improve efficiency. Minimising waste by recycling products means that less rubbish gets sent to landfill or polluts the enviroment which fulfills a social need
