3.2.3 AFD

A

Shall be maintained within the target band about the target AFD

May deviate outside the target band <90% RTP provided AFD is in acceptable operation limits and ≤ 1 hour cumulative penalty minutes during the previous 24 hours

May deviate outside the target band with power <50%

APPLICABILITY: Mode 1 > 15% with OPDMS not monitoring

ACTIONS
A. Power ≥ 90% and not within target band
A.1 Restore to within band within 15 minutes or lower power <90% within the following 15 minutes
C. 50-90% power and outside the acceptable range or >1 hour penalty minutes
C1. Reduce power <50% within 30 minutes.
D Completion time of C not met, lower power to ≤15% within 9 hours

3.2.4 QPTR

A

QPTR shall be ≤ 1.02

APPLICABILITY: MODE 1 with power >50% and OPDMS not monitoring parameters

ACTIONS
A. Not within Limit
A.1 Lower power ≥ 3% from RTP for each 1% of QPTR> 1.00 in 2 hours
AND perform QPTR surveillance 1x/12 hours
AND perform peaking factor surveillance 24 hours after achieving equilibrium from power reduction and 1x/7 Days thereafter
AND reevaluate safety analyses prior to increasing power above the reduced limit
AND A.5 -recalibrate excores after safety analyses and prior to raising power
AND A.6 perform peaking factor surveillance within 24 hours achieving equilibrium and not greater than 48 hours going above reduced power level
B. A actions not met, reduce power ≤ 50% RTP within 4 hours.

3.2.5 OPDMS Monitored Parameters

A

The following parameters shall not exceed their operating limits as
specified in the COLR:
a. Peak Linear Heat Rate;
b. FNΔH ;
c. DNBR; and
d. SDM.

APPLICABILITY: MODE 1 with THERMAL POWER ≥ 25% RTP and with OPDMS
monitoring parameters a, b, and c.
MODE 1 with OPDMS monitoring parameter d.
MODE 2 with keff ≥ 1.0 and OPDMS monitoring parameter d.

ACTIONS
A. One of a - c UNSAT, restore within 1 hour
B. Required action and time of A not met, lower power <25% within 4 hours
C Parameter d UNSAT, initiate boration to restore SDM within 15 minutes
