A2.4 What stretches should someone carry out to relieve tension from the head, neck, back hips and shoulders?
Stretching the neck side to side will release tension in your head, neck and shoulders.
Stretching the neck front to back will release tension in the head, neck, back, hips and shoulders.
You can also add touching your toes, back stretches, trunk twists to release tension in the back and hips.
Others include upper torso and arm stretches, shoulder stretch, arm, wrist and ankle stretches.
A2.5 What are the benefits of carrying out a stretch?
Releases tension in the body and relaxes the muscles.
A2.6 What stretch should a driver do to work on core muscles?
Tight rope, the Rocker, Extending the Sword or Shaking Loose.
A2.7 Describe how someone should carry out a shoulder stretch?
- Reach your arm across your chest with your upper arm close to your collar bone.
- Take your other hand and grab the crossed arms’ elbow.
- Pull your arm closer to your body and stretch your shoulder.
- Now do the other shoulder.
- Repeat a few times each side.
