Purpose of the initial medical exam?

A

The initial medical exam should assess general health, administer complete immunizations in keeping with us standards, find health conditions needing further attention , and detecting contagious diseases. The results should be reported on ORR forms. Payment for initial exams in pre-approved

Requests for health care

A

While care providers should observe and identify children needing medical attention, they also must have policies and procedures for children to make requests for emergency and non-emergency healthcare. Requests must be condiments. Non-emergency requests should be responded to within 24-48 hours (except weekends and holidays). They should also address any questions about past care

7 steps of medication administration

A

1: locking cabinets, closets and fridge units
2. Recording all prescribed medications in the file
3. Training staff who dispense medication on the five rights of medication administration
4. Confirm the child ingested the medicine
5. Documents prescribed or otc medicines have or have not been administered
6. Prohibit one child to deliver medications to another
7. Disallow a UCs self/administration of medications, orally or topically, outside the presensr of a staff member

All medications should be ordered by a licensed health care provider

Medical information privacy

A

Care providers should have written policies, procedures and practices on confidentiality of medical information. Care providers should use discretion in communicating with Uc about medical appointments around others, should dispense medication in a private location, and should only share medical information with staff in a need-to-know basis

Medical clearance ahead of transfer or release

A

Anyone with serious health issues needs to be cleared. Anyone on a prescription should receive at least 49 days of medication, the uc and care provider must be instructed in proper administrstion of medications. If likelihood of staying on medications after release is low for psychotropic medications, they should be slowly released

Provider reimbursement

A

Payment is ffs and handled by a third-party entity. Providers need to enter into an agreement with the entity before providing care for UCs.

Does ORR reimburse for transport to care?

A

No - these are the care provider costs, and should be taken into consideration when contracting.

What non-emergency services has to be pre-approved before rendered?

A

Office visits such as primary care, speciality consultations, mental health and dental care, lab tests, surgeries and procedures, pt, and other specialties. However approval does not imply condiment for the procedure if parent or legal guardian consent is required and can’t be returned

A

Because it’s so short-z434’, cosmetic treatment, medical consultations for minor health concerns where home remedies work; or specialty consultation for a stable condition that can’t be resolved before dischsrge
