What is Ohms law?
Current through a piece of material at a constant temperature is directly proportional to the voltage across it. V= I x R
What is Kirchhoff’s first law? (Current)
At any junction in an electrical circuit, the sum of currents flowing towards that point is equal to the sum of currents flowing away from it.
What is Kirchhoff’s Second law? (Voltage)
Kirchhoff’s Voltage Law states that the algebraic sum of all voltages around any in a closed loop is zero.
How do you calculate terminal voltage?
Vt= E(EMF)-IR(internal resistance)
Power supplies have IR which limits the minimum current that can be drawn from them, true or false?
False, Power supplies have IR which limits the maximum current that can be drawn from them
What does Internal resistance depend on?
depends on the type of power source
What are the dangers and limitation of Internal resistance in a power supply?
If an IR is low it can cause a very high short circuit current that can destroy the power source.
Supplies should not be connected to circuits that draw more than the maximum stated current
