Be mindful of body language, don’t interrupt, use terminology the player will understand, ask questions regularly, have a clear and narrow focus.
what is communication
the exchange of information through speech, actions or behaviors.
What is a long term goal
the end product of training and preparation or the ultimate goal, this is usually decided by the coach and athletes together. Eg improving 2km rowing time by 15 seconds over four years to win an Olympic medal.
What is a short term goal
stepping stones towards the larger end goal and can be set anywhere from weekly to monthly in order to maintain motivation and level of achievement. Usually set by just the coach. Example is increasing max deadlift weight by 5kg over 4 weeks.
What knowledge of sport should the coach have
Extensive knowledge of rules, structures and strategies of the sport, is competent in teaching technical skills, can identify appropriate tactics, can implement a full periodisation plan

INTRODUCE the skill and identify where its used, DEMONSTRATE the skill, EXPLAIN the skill using simple language, ATTEND the drill observing the performers giving feedback to help them improve
