Q

When pitch mode VNV SPD to ALT ACQ
- will:

A

during intermediate level off (not CRZ ALT) the autothrottle will targer IAS (in stead of MACH) even above automatic change over altitude. This could cause overspeed

Q

ALTITUDE INTERVENTION
- push during VNAV Climb

A
  • every push deletes lowest ALT constraint (from FMC)
  • if MCP ALT above current FMC ALT, FMC cruise altitude will be only increased (not decreased) to MCP cruise altitude

Q

ALTITUDE INTERVENTION
- push during VNAV cruise

A
  • if MCP set higher than FMC, FMC ALT will be the MCP ALT and aircraft will climb
  • MCP ALT set to lower altitude, but at or above alt constraint and further than 50nm from TOD, the aircraft will descent with 1000 feet/min
  • MCP ALT set to lower altitude and lower than als constraint and > 50nm will initiate a descent with 1000 feet/min until path intercept OR MCP ALT LEVEL OFF occurs

Q

ALTITUDE INTERVENTION
- push during VNV descent

A
  • every push deletes highest alt constraint
  • aircraft currently at alt constraint and MCP lower, deletion will allow aircraft to further descent

16
Q

When LOC frequency selected, what will antennas do

A

VNF NAV radios automatically switch from tail to nose antenna

17
Q

bank angle selector
- for which modes
- all options

A
  • for HDG SEL and VOR MODE
  • 10,15,20,25,30
18
Q

DUAL AP operations
- when used

A

for approach and must BOTH be tuned to ILS and prior to 800’ RA

19
Q

APP MODE OPERSTIONS
- when does capture occurs

When app mode disengage

A

GS capture 2/5 dot below GS
LOC capture 1/2 dot deviation
LOC MUST be captured before GS can be captured’

D - TOGA, retuning VHF NAV, disengaging AP and Turning off FD

20
Q

CSW
- From CWS P automatically to
- From CWS R automatically to
- Push

A

P - ALT ACQ -> ALT HOLD when reaching selected altitude
R - VOR/LOC when course intercepted

P - when control pressure released: A/P holds existing attitude. If ailerons pressure released with 6 degrees or less bank: the A/P rolls wings level and maintains HDG. HDG hold feature inhibits:
- below 1500’ with gear down
- after LOC capture in APP mode
- after VOR capture with TAS at or above 250 KTS

21
Q

AUTOPILOT
- A/P disconnect switch: tone
- A/P disengage light 🛑 steady

A

Tone sounds for approximately 2 seconds

A/P 🛑 steady:
- stab out of trim below 800’m RA on Dual approach
- ALT ACQ mode inhibited during A/P GA if stabilizer not trimmed for single A/P
- Disengage light test switch in pos 2
- automatic ground system test fails;

22
Q

Autothrottle disengage light
- A/T flashing 🟧

A

A/T flashing 🟧: indicates A/T airspeed error under following conditions:
- in flight
- flaps not up
- air speed differs from commanded value by +10 or -5 its and is not approaching commanded value

23
Q

NEW FMA illuminate time

A

10 seconds

24
Q

AUTOPILOT ENGAGEMENT CRITERIA

A
  • no force to control wheel applied
  • stab trim autopilot is at NORMAL
25
Q

One IRU INOP, this will cause:

A

Yaw damper will disconnect when A/P in use

26
Q

Dual channel A/P OPS
- criteria

A

Only with 2 generators are powering the busses

27
Q

FCC: amount of radio altimeters
- what if one INOP with A/P on

A

2 independent radio altimeters
- A/P disconnects after 2 sec

28
Q

Independent F/D operations.
- requirements:

A

When A/P is OFF AND:
- app mode with LOC/G/S capture
- GA more engaged below 400’ RA
- TO mode engaged below 400” RA

29
Q

FAIL OPERATIONAL AUTOLAND
- LAND 3
- LAND 2
- failure below alert height and still capable of continuing the autoland + rollout

A

LAND 3: 2 autopilots, three inertial sources and associated sensors are operating normally for an automatic landing + rollout
LAND 2: failure occurred above Alert height and redundancy is reduced: but the autoland Is still capable of making auto land + rollout

  • land 3 will remain displayed and the failure (autoland downgrade) will be shown below 40 KIAS
30
Q

TO/GA ENGAGEMENT
TAKEOFF
- both FD OFF
GA

A

FD OFF: press after 80 Kias below 2000’ AGL and prior to 150 seconds after lift off

FD ON: AFDS will shown -10 pitch until 60 Kias, than +15 until sufficient climb rate than v2+15
GA:
- inflight below 2000 feet
- inflight above 2000 feet with flaps not up or G/S captured

31
Q

FLARE
ROLLOUT
BOTH DUAL A/P APP
AP DISENGAGE

A

FLARE: arms below 1500’ and engages below 50’ RA, recedes thrust at 27’ RA
ROLLOUT: arms below 1500’ and 2 sec after touchdown A/T disengages

AP disengaged will end rollout guidance

32
Q

Autothrottle ON
- levers difference
A/T disengage when:

A

L - 1 knob from each other
A- thrust levers separated > 10 degrees OR significant thrust difference along with control wheel roll input of 10 degrees or more

33
Q

Pressing toga
- 84 KIAS
- ENG FAIL SPEED v2
- second press toga

A

84 - THR HLD
E - v2 - v2+20 KIAS
S - above 800’ full GA thrust “GA”

34
Q

Climbing (VNV PTH or V/S) OR Descending (V/S)

A

aircraft automatically changes to LVL CHG when close to VMIN, VMO,MMO

35
Q

MIN SPEED REVERSION NOT AVAILABLE

A

A/T OFF, AFDS IN ALT HOLD or AFTER G/S capture, VNAV PTH in level segment
