Q

donepezil

A

MOA: Cholinesterase inhibitor (Indirect Cholinergic)

-This medication prevents the breakdown of acetylcholine by blocking cholinesterase. Acetylcholine stays around longer and produces an effect longer.

Indications: Alzheimer’s Disease-early phases
Contraindications: Allergy
Adverse Effects: GI upset & ulcers, drowsiness, dizziness, insomnia, bradycardia, hypotension
