A
  • Equal spacing between the 2 through 5th MTs
  • The joint space from the medial and intermediate cuneiforms is seen
  • 1/3 of the talus (2 cm) is superimposing the calcaneus
  • TMT and navicular-cuneiform jt space open
  • 3 MT base center
  • need to have proximal calcaneus and neck of talus

A

MT bases show increased superimposition, medial and intermediate cuneiform joint is close and the talus moves over the calcaneus by more than a 1/3 (>2cm).

A

MT bases show decreased superimposition.

A

This aligns the ray parallel to the TMT jts and open navicular-cuneiform joint spacesWrong alignment will lead to closed TMT and navicular cuneiform joint spaces.
