Q

What two wetlands are being worked on now?

A

The Florida Everglades and Chesapeake Bay.
Florida Everglades: The Florida Everglades are being replumbed. This is a huge expensive project. The Everglades provide very fertile land when drained; so that’s
what farmers did. The new engineering plan restores water to the Everglades but institutes control measures to prevent flooding.
Chesapeake Bay: The Chesapeake Bay is being rehabilitated. As the largest, richest estuary in the US, its ecology is important to us. Six states are contributing to the
project financially. Progress is going very slowly.
