There is a longitudinal midline scar across the patient’s right knee. There appear to be surgical clips still present, suggesting that the surgery was recent. There is no erythema or signs of infection, although there does appear to be some bruising across the medial aspect of the lower leg.

Bilateral longitudinal scars across the medial aspect of the knees. They appear to be healing well and are not erythematous or have signs suggestive of infection.

3 small incisions on patient’s L knee- inferomedial, inferolateral, superomedial (latter is not present in all)

Posterior hip scar

Two approaches for hip arthroplasty: 1. Anterolateral is easier but risks the superior gluteal nerve (reulting in abductor weakness and a Trendelenburg gait). 2. Posterior- risks sciatic nerve (test foot extension- extensory hallicus longus)
