Q

Reinforcement

A

It’s a process that increases the future frequency of the behavior.

Ex. Increase when reached a certain level to maintain still will need reinforcement

Stimulus

A

Stimulating your senses

  • energy change through receptor, it can just be about anything
  • it effects a person through their senses

Q

Topographic Response class

A

A group of responses that are grouped b/c they all look the same.
ex. I sit down, I get a can of soda, I sit down, I get smacked, sit own regardless of what happens afterwards.

Q

Response

A

A single instance of behavior and solely under the control of the ANTECEDENT (S-S Food elicits response)

20
Q

Functional response class

A

A group of responses that are grouped b/c they all have the same consequence. It does NOT matter what the responses LOOKs like, what has to be the same is what happens AFTER the response.
Ex I waved my drink ticker to waiter I get water, I sign, sing, asking WHAT happens is the same (environmental effect is the same)

21
Q

Topography vs function

A

Topographical response all the same responses

Functional Response are different response to get the same result

22
Q

Is IRT a dimensional Quantity

23
Q

fundamental property -Repeatability

A

Behavior occurs more than once

-goes with countability

24
Difference between Frequency and Rate
Frequency is the count | Rate is the count PLUS time
25
How can you tell if it is rate or duration?
Rate is the count plus time | Duration occurs over a period of time
26
Dimensional Quantity
MEASUREMENT
27
Dimensional quantity=Latency
Time before you begin to engage in the behavior | ex. measuring how long it take you to pick an answer
28
Dimensional quantity-IRT
Inter Response time -Time between two responses (time that passes between you engaging in response #1 until you begin to engage in response #2
29
Dimensional quantity-Rate
Count with a period of time
30
If I had two different responses, same effect on environment would be Functional or Topography
Functional
31
What is the difference between Behavior and Response?
BEHAVIOr is more then one response
32
Dimensional quantity-Temporal Extent
Behavior take up or EXTENDS for a certain period of time | -goes with Duration
33
Which dimensional quantity is associated with repeatability?
Countabilty-it's what you count
34
Which dimensional quantity is associated with repeatability ? Duration, frequency or countability
countability
35
S-S
Stimulus-Stimulus=Pairing one stimulus then another ex. meat powder and clicker
36
Function
Effect of the response on the environment, the condition in which the behavior occurs
37
BEHAVIOR=You can not say he engaged in many joke telling behaviors because?
It is a collective term, and should not be used in plural form (besides Jose says so)
38
If I had 2 response that looked exactly a like, but different effects on the would it be Functional or Topographical
Topographical
39
Functional Relation
a purposeful relationship between behavior and the environment ex. If I engage in he Bx, this will happen
40
Behavior is determined by
biological and environmental variables
41
fundamental property
is something an event has, whether you measure it or not.
42
dimensional quantity
Rrefers to the measurement we make of that fundamdental property USING ARBITRARY UNITS! We make up the meaning of a "second" or a "minute" by agreeing to a measurement guideline.
43
How does Latency occur (Stimulus to start of response)?
only one response is necessary. Therefore latency, as a measureable quantity (aka "dimensional quantity") is based solely on the single fundamental property of a response known as "temporal locus" and also know as a single point in time when a response begins.
44
Duration, as a measureable quantity (AKA "dimensional quantity") requires
only one fundamental property as well: temporal extent, or that a response takes up a certain amount of time to occur.
45
IRT requires at least how many responses?
TWO responses to exist. How can there be a "time between responses" if there is only 1 response? Therefore as a dimensional quantity (measureable quantity) IRT requires two fundamental properties of a response: temporal locus (a point in time when a behavior either begins or ends) and Repeatability (the fact that the response happens again).
46
Whats the difference between fundamental property and dimensional quantity?
fundamental property is something an event has, whether you measure it or not. A "dimensional quantity" refers to the measurement we make of that fundamdental property USING ARBITRARY UNITS! We make up the meaning of a "second" or a "minute" by agreeing to a measurement guideline. We are so used to this we take it for granted.
47
Dimensional Quantities of Bx-Celeration
change in rate over time | ex. you used to hit your head 10x per minute now you hit your head 1x per minute
48
Dimensional Quantities of Bx-Duration
The amount of time a response occurs
49
Celebration
Change in rate over time - increase or decrease in responding - change in # of responses
50
Environment
Everything outside the skin of an organism | -everything that could effect you Bx
