London is located in the south of England on a low landscape, and it has the river thames going through it, London has railway and road connection to various other cities in the UK

A

Lots of people move to London from both the UK and other areas around the world as there are lots of job opportunities in the city, the city also has a high quality of life meaning there is a low death rate, which means there are a lot more births than deaths which increases the population

A

Depopulation is when people leave a city due to a loss of jobs, this causes decline because it causes industries to leave the city due to the loss of potential workforce

Describe London’s structure in terms of the CBD, inner city, suburbs, and RUF

A

The CBD is located in central London, the inner city is located in-between the suburbs and the CBD, areas such as Merton and Haringey can be considers inner city areas, the suburbs are on the edge of London, where the area is still urban, but it mostly consists of housing, smaller shops, etc, areas such as Kingston borough can be considered suburbs, while the RUF is located outside outside of London, in rural areas of Surrey, Kent, etc

What is meant by inequality?

A

In terms of economics, inequality is the economic, social, and environmental difference that smaller areas have with each other within a larger area, e.g. Richmond and Newham are inequal, despite both areas being in London

Where do most migrants arrive or live first? Why is this?

A

Migrants first live in poorer areas due to them not having much money when they arrive in Britain (if migrating internationally), these areas would usually be in the inner city as there are job opportunities

A

They usually live in these areas because they do not have enough money to live in other areas, and because they can be less welcome in other areas
