16
Q

How is the navigation source selected on the PFD?

MFD?

A
  • Nav source selector on FGCP.

- EFIS control panel.

17
Q

Both pilots set the DH, but RA 1 has failed? Will there be a minimums call?

A

Yes. Although the pilots side triggers “MINIMUMS MINIMUMS” call, the co-pilots side will do so in this case.

18
Q

What screens work in emergency mode?

A

ED, MFD 1, standby attitude indicator.

19
Q

If you have a dual MFD failure, how and where can you get the info displayed?

A

ALL button to display on ED. Push and hold and it will cycle on each push.

20
Q

What is auto reversion of the ED?

A

If the airspeed is above 50 kts, it automatically transfers to PFD 1 when it fails. If below 50 knots, it goes off and the takeoff must be aborted.

21
Q

What is required for the stick pusher to function?

A

All components of the SPS including both SPMs.

22
Q

What condition will you get a takeoff warning tone?

A
  • Any spoilers extended.
  • Flaps 0° or 35°.
  • Park brake set.
  • Pitch trim not set correctly in t/o range.
  • One or both condition leavers not at max/1020 rpm.
23
Q

What info is lost if ADCs fail?

What info is lost if AHRS fails? How many QRH items.

A
  • ASI and ALT.

- HDG, ATT, IVSI. Read all 3 QRH items.

24
Q

What does an “Air Data System” include?

What does the ADS calculate?

A
  • 2 ADCs
  • 2 Pitot static probes
  • 1 Static temp probe to sense OAT
  • 1 Pitot/static isolation valve to isolate the two primary ADS systems
  • Pitot/static isolation valve panel

The ADS calculates:

  • SAT
  • Barometric correction
  • Altitude rate (EGPWS)
  • Airspeed
  • Vmo
25
Q

What does an inhibit switch do?

A

Inhibits signal to a computer module

26
Q

What does RCT on the wx radar stand for?

What does it do?

A

Rain echo attenuation
Compensation
Technique

Displays magenta shades behind weather to indicate that the wx radar is uncertain what is behind the painted weather. `

27
Q

What modules are in the IFC?

A
  • Input/output processors
  • input/output modules
  • Prime power supply
  • Flight guidance modules
  • Stall protection modules
28
Q

What is in the Warning Tone Generator (WTG) System?

What takes priority over WTG alerts?

A
  • Engine fire bell
  • Takeoff Config
  • AP disengagement
  • Pitch trim in motion
  • Overspeed warning
  • Selcal
  • Ldg gear not down and locked
  • Selected altitude warning
  • BETA lockout warning
  • Master warning light illuminated (3 tones)
  • Master caution light illuminated (1 tone)

*TCAS and EGPWS alerts take priority over WTG alerts.

29
Q

TCAS Indications

Diamond?

Shaded diamond?

Shaded yellow circle?

Shaded red square?

A

Diamond: Relative altitude greater than 1200ft and 6nm

Shaded Diamond: Relative altitude less than 1200ft and less than 6nm but not a collision threat. This takes priority over the above.

Shaded yellow circle: TA 20-48 seconds from CPA

Shaded Red Square: RA 15-35 seconds from CPA. Disengage AP and obey resolution commands.

30
Q

What does the TCAS do when below 1700 AGL?

A

The TCAS estimates the value of the ground and if an intruder is less than 180ft AGL, it considers it to be on the ground and doesn’t generate a warning.

31
Q

What airspeed and altitude are required for the SPS enabled?

A
  • RA greater than 200ft

- AS less than 215 kts

32
Q

What does the TO Warn Test do?

A

-Simulates power levers advanced above 50% torque

33
Q

Which caution light appears if you push the Stick Pusher Shut Off button

A

Pusher Syst Fail

34
Q

When would you get a T/O config warning?

A

If Flaps <5 degrees or greater than 15 degrees;
or Condition levers not set to MAX
or Park Brake Set
or IB/OB spoilers extended
or Elevator Trim is out of range
and the Torque is increased to greater than 50% and WOWs.

35
Q

When is an increased descent RA inhibited?

A

1450ft RA or less

36
Q

When are TCAS II announcements inhibited?

Does a single radar altitude failure affect TCAS?

A

Climb: 600 ft RA
Descent: 400ft RA

No

37
Q

What indications does the SPM use to calculate stick pusher activation?

A
Flap position
AoA
Mach number
PLA
CLA
REF SPEED switch
38
Q

What are the sources of the EGPWS? (5)

A
RAD ALT
ADC
UHF NAV receiver
Gear and Flaps indications
Roll attitude input sensor
39
Q

How does EGPWS supplement GPWS?

A

Supplements the RAD ALT by integrating a navigation source. A GPS position in conjunction with a database is used to help predict terrain conflict.
