signs and symptoms

A

deafness, tinnitus, retro-auricular pain, congested eye, sore throat, pain on lateral aspect of shoulder, elbow, arm and dorsum of hand

pathway

A
  • originates at ulnar side of ring finger
  • goes up b/t 4th and 5th MC bones on dorsal side of hand to forearm b/t radius and ulnar
  • travels to elbow between lateral epicondyle and olecranon and upper arm pass the shoulder to supraclavicular fossa
  • internal branch down to chest to connect with PC, TE before continuing to BL39 the lower He-Sea pt of TE-M
  • another branch starts at chest at CV17 and connects with GV14 then continues up neck, behind ear at TE17 where divides into 2 branches
  • one branch runs along posterior border of ear to connect with ST8 at corner of hairline then down to finish at SI18 below zygomatic bone
  • another branch enters ear and re-emerges at anterior tragus before connecting to outer edge of eyebrown then internally to connect with GB1 at outer canthus

luo connecting meridian

A

longitudinal - follows posterior aspect of arm to shoulder then through ST12 to enter thorax and connect with PC+TE
transverse - TE luo pt (TE5) connects to PC Yuan pt (PC7)

divergent meridian

A

starts from TE20, ascends to GV20, goes to TE16 then ST12 and enters chest to connect with PC+TE

muscle region

A

begins at TE1 goes to dorsum of wrist then to posterior aspect of arm to tip of elbow, ascends lateral aspect of upper arm to shoulder and neck to join with SI muscle region
a branch separates at angle of mandible to link to root of tongue
another branch ascends from ear to join outer canthus of eye then ascend to temple up corner of forehead
