What is a peer to peer network?
A peer to peer network is when computers are connected without a server between them.
What is a client server?
The client is the computer that the user is using, and the server is the dedicated computer providing the service to the clients. If the server fails, the clients will not be able to perform many operations e.g. e-mail
What is a bus topology?
A bus topology is a topology in which every device is connected to a single cable.
What is a star topology?
A star topology is a topology in which each device is individually connected to a central connection point e.g. a hub or switch. If a cable goes fails, only one device goes down.
What is a ring topology?
A topology in which each node connects to two different nodes. Data travels from node to node, with each node handling every packet.
What is a mesh topology?
A topology in which each node relays data for the network. All nodes/devices co-operate in the distribution of data in the network
