What is the Pectoral girdle composed of?
Clavicle and Scapula
What is the function of the clavicle?
Connects the upper extremity to the axial skeleton
What are the parts of the shoulder/pectoral girdle pictured?

Sternoclavicular joint and Acromioclavicular joint

Scapula has not bony attachments to the axial skeleton
Glenohumeral joint has a loose fit
-lots of mobility but not alot of stability

No articulations with vertebral column
Not very stable
-wide range of movement
