Q

Explain what is plates moving together mean

A

Plates moving together is when a plate might slide under one another because of too much human activities like drilling and other things. This is called subduction. The plate that slid under the plate will then melt and join with the mantle. This is called a convergent boundary.

Q

Explain what plates moving away from each other mean

A

As tectonic plates drift 4cm every year, some tectonic plates might be too thin and crack causing the magma to be exposed and become lava which then will eventually becomes a volcano. This is called a divergent boundary.

Q

Explain what plates sliding against each other mean

A

All plates are always large and heavy. So, due to this they all have pressure and a lot of friction building up in them over the years. After a while, there will be too much pressure and this causes the plates to have violent movement with each other. This movement causes earthquakes.
