Error in which we tend to make personal attributions then situational attributions when obrserbing others behavior

We accept our success of personal cherschteristics and losses due to situational variable
What is a self fulfilling prophecy?
Situations where the expectation of an even increase the likely hood of the even occurring
What are social norms?
Rules and expectations of the group concerning the behavior of individual members
What are social roles?
Expected behavior of individuals with certain characteristics in a social group
What is the bystander effect?
Tendency for the likeleyjood of receiving help to decrease as the umber of people witnessing increases
What is prejudice?
A stron positive or negative atttiude towards a group of people
What is a stereotype?
The overgenetilzed characteristics that we assign to all members of a perceived group

People we perceive as similar to us
