Gestation?
8-12 weeks
A
This is the initial booking appointment:
- Take a general history (ask folic acid, vit D etc)
- Measure BP
- Urine dip stick and bacteria culture
- Measure BMI
- FBC, blood group, RH status,red blood cell alloantibodies
- Screen: HIV, Hep B. Rubella, Syphillis

10-13 + 16 Weeks

- Date confirming scan
- Screens for multiple pregnancy
Downs syndrome screening:
- Combined test offered at 11-14 wks
- Consists off nuchal translucency scan
- Blood tests HCG & serum pregnancy plasma protein

- Measure Symphysis - fundal height (SFH)
- Measure BP
- Urine Dip & Culture

- FBC, Give iron supplements if anaemic,
- Check for atypical blood cell alloantibodies
- Give anti-D prophylaxis to rhesus-negative mothers
