• This gives them more surface area to pick up oxygen and carry it on haemoglobin to the body’s cells for respiration.

• There are different types, some for making antibodies and some for engulfing microbes.

- It is pale yellow in colour and contains dissolved chemicals like carbon dioxide and hormones.
