Approved station uniform with collared shirt and safety shoes, with ID cards available upon request

Meet, greet and educate

If door is unanswered what should you do with the HSH pamphlet?
Leave in the mailbox or other discreet location with Home fire escape plan flyer

If home owners have smoke/CO alarms that are inoperable what should you do?
Provide home owner with new battery or alarm, fill out form 416, which are sent to prevention via email and hard copies

Where is the preferred location for installing a smoke alarm?
Ceiling or 6” down from the ceiling on the wall

T/F children are not permitted on the apparatus during HSH
True, they are encouraged to come by the fire station for a visit at a convenient time

May tenants or neighbours request HSH inspections?
No, but they may register complaints which will be followed up by FPLS.

Where will captains enter HSH visit results?
Into MAX prior to the end of the shift, if unable to do it on that shift should be entered during next shift
