A

2. Directing Takes Place At Every Level of Management - There are three platforms at three diffeent levels, and at every level stick character are acting like managers.

3. Directing is a Continous Proces - This happens continously and continously even after Karan Johar says stop. Day and night shifts.

4. Directing Flows from Top to Bottom - Suddeny, the person on the top shifts to the level on the middle crushing the person in the middle and then goes to bottom one crushing it and starts flowing like liquid. (top to bottom)

Importance of Directing

A

Director Karan Johar goes to his giant office and opens his VIP bag in which there is a mirror.

1. Helps to Initiate Action - In the mirror’s reflection he sees that no one works. So he screams at everyone and everyone gets into action that he has initiated.

2. Integrates Employees Efforts - He still thinks no one is working. So he takes a special bonsai and hides on the top shelf. He says everyone has to get it. So the employees integrate their effort and climb and trying to get the tree.

3. Guides Employees - Dev Anand comes and guides employees to find the tree. So they all break the top shelf and get it.

4. Facilitates Introduction of Needed Changes - Karan Johar looking at this gets very shocked so he acts like he’s getting fhasi and his face keeps on changing has he makes expressions.

5. Helps to bring Stabality and Balance in the Organisation - They put him on a hovering stabaliser and he loses he starts losing his balance and falls and lies on the stabaliser. They put a mouth organ in his mouth and he comes back to life.

Functions of Supervisor

A

Superman is flying around.

1. Maintains Day to Day Contact and Friendly Relations with Workers - He uses a vision and sees some construction workers. He goes to them and makes contact with the ground. He wants to develop a friendly relation with them, so he ties a friendship band on their hands since it’s friendship day.

2. Acts as a Link Between Workers And Management - There is a manager that comes to him and starts screaming. He links the workers and the manager using a chain.

3. Key Role in Maintaining Group Unity - He then unites the group (by tying them into a circle) and put a lock and takes the key away with him - hence he plays a key role in uniting the group.

4. Ensures Performance of Work - He then flys them to a stage and stage and makes the workers do a performance.

5. On Job Training - They don’t do well so he then trains them to become like him, using fighting bags etc.

6. Influences Workers - They all get influenza because of working too much, so he gives them a flu shot.

7. Analysis and Feedback to Workers - He puts sushi platter food on their backs for whenever they get hungry.

Characteristics/ Features of Motivation

A

A stick character actor gets off the car and with him is a moti.

1. Motivation is an Internal Feeling - The moti gets off her car, enters her house and opens the nal, and fills her bottle.

2. Motivation Produces Goal Directed Behaviour - She goes to her backyard where there is a goal post. She kicks the ball at the goal but director Karan Johar comes in between and the ball hits him so hard that he flys away to place where there are bees at a river.

3. Motivation can be either Positive or Negative - Moti reaches the river. She first thinks that she should take him out, i.e. positive. She then thinks she shouldn’t take him out, i.e. negative, thinking that she will get blamed. After being postive negative she just leaves him and runs away.

4. Motivation is a Complex Process - She runs and runs and runs until she reaches a housing complex. At the housing complex, there is a procession going which she joins and becomes the bride.

You are SRK. Life of SRK.

1. Basic Psychological Needs - SRK goes to Mumbai. He lives on the street initially and doesn’t get any food, etc. He finds a house to live in and instantly shifts there. He goes psycho.

2. Safety/Security Needs - He finds a security job in which he has to secure a diamond safe

3. Affilitation/Belongingness Need - He goes to the film industry and starts acting and becomes and instagram affiliate marketer. He gets married so he gets belongingness need.

4. Esteem/Respect Needs - He buys an esteem car and a steam train, and starts telling everyone “Respect my Authority”.

5. Self-Actualisation Needs - He thinks he wants to become as big as Amitabh Bachan, and he thinks to him self, that such things don’t happen actually.

Financial Incentive

A

You go to join a finance company (like in wolf of wall street). As soon he enters he gets selected and put on the top corner office.

1. Pay and Allowance - Only you are allowed to use the special elevator, and you gets your first pay cheque.

2. Bonus - You take the pay cheque go to a bones shop and buy bones.

3. Productivity Linked Wage Incentives - You eat a bone and like eat, so you start production of bones and hire some wage labourers.

4. Stock Option - You were some stockings and stock the bones in a stock room.

5. Profit - One buyer comes and buys all the stock, so you get alot of profit. You also start selling bones in a bottle, and make tonnes of profit.

6. Retirement Benefit - After making tons of profit, you finally retire and settle in Male.

7. Perquisites - You lay on the beach chair and enjoy a purple perk chocolate.

Characteristics of Leadership

A

Stick character actor goes to ship to meet leader from Far Cry 3.

1. Influence - Everyone on the ship gets influenza.

2. Change Behaviour - He wants to change the behaviour of influenza so he gets a beehive and breaks it and all the bees bite everyone and cure them, and the bees fly away to a river.

3. Relationship With Followers - His relationship with followers immediately increases as everyone is happy they are cured. So all his relatives/followers start following him around.

4. Achieve Common Goals of the Organisation - They all go to the back of the ship and there is a comma on the ground. Leader says that everyone has to hit the comma in the goal and they will achieve mouth organ. So they all try and achieve the comma in the goal to get organ. Everytime goal is achieved, mouth organ is played.

5. Continous Process - They do this process continously, and finally the winner is taken in contessa car for procession to celebrate his victory. He stunts out of the ship and procession floats on water.

A

You leave a finance company becauase you don’t get much financial incentive and you leave the country looking for better financial incentive and satisfaction.

1. Status - You go to the states.

2. Job Security - You take up a job as a security gaurd for google.

3. Job Enrichment - By doing the job you get rich and start eating mints obsessively.

4. Career Advancement Opportunity - The VP notices you and puts you on one of the workstations, advancing your career. Further you buy an advanced car which hovers.

5. Employee Participation - You quickly reach the top and host a big party with your employees.

6. Employee Recognition Programmes - You go on a TV programme, and get an employee recognition black diamond trophy.

7. Employee Empowerment - Your mint addiction gets to you and you and your employees wear power shoes and rob a mint bank.

8. Organisational Climate - You fail and get shot. So to take revenge, you go back to the google headquarters and see that the organisational climate is very good. You play your mouth organ, and the climate changes from snowy to rainy to sunny to windy and back and forth.

There is a communication between elephants.

1. Sender - The elephant uses his phone to type and send a message.

2. Message - The message doesn’t get delivered.

3. Encoding - Before sending the message again, the elephant encdoes it using emo__jis.

4. Media - The message gets sent, but the media persons catch the flying envelope mid-air.

5. Decoding - They open it and decode it using their glasses.

6. Reciever - The reciever elephant is the president, and on hearing this he gets very angry.

7. Feedback - He puts food on his back and gets very angry.

8. Noise - He starts jumping around and making lots of noise.

Semantic Barriers to Communication

A

You are Golu. Golu goes to a bar. Over there he sees a man that tries communicating with him, but he can’t as he is too drunk.

A. Semantic Barriers - In the morning, he gets a hangover, and as he wakes up he sees seema ke outside someone has put barrier. (wall)

i. Badly Expressed Message - He goes outside to see that someone has written a badly expressed message on the wall. After some abuses, it says go to the other side.

ii. Symbols With Different Meanings - When he goes to the other side, there are some random symbols with different meanings like illuminati, gender, peace etc.

iii. Faulty Translations - He doesn’t understand the meaning, so he stops random people on the road and asks them to translate. Everyone gives faulty translations so he gets very confused.

iv. Technical Jargon - Then a technician walks by with jar with gun inside. He stops him, so the technician gets angry at him.

v. Body Language and Gesture Decoding - His body language instantly changes, and he gets super scared. He starts gesturing a gun and raising his other hand.

vi. Unclarified Assumptions - The technician suddenly blows up. He gets super confused and assumes that somoeone must be behind this, but it is unclarified who it is.

He goes to Psychologist for help.

Psychological Barriers to Communication

A

B. Psychological Barriers - Golu goes to psychologist for help.

i. Premature Evaluation - Over there he sees prem (from Ajab Prem Ki Gazab Kahani) eating achar and psychologist (sid) is evaluating him.

ii. Lack of Attention - Golu tries to talk to psychologist, but psychologist just doesn’t respond, there is full lack of attention.

iii. Distrust - After trying again, he screams I don’t trust you and dish throw at him.

iv. Loss by Transmission and Poor Retention - The dish gets lost in control and during transmission it hits Prem instead of psychologoist. Prem says that ab tumhe pura din detention mein bethna padega.

So Golu runs as fast as he can and hides in the bathroom. Over there he finds a mouth organ.

i. Organisational Policy - Police comes and confiscates the mouth organ.

iii. Status - He then says that if you want to play it then go to united states or status bar.

iv. Complexity in Organisational Structure - He then flies to the states and goes to a giant shopping compex. Over there, in the middle of the complex he starts building a giant structure of a mouth organ.

As he builds the structure a bunch of persons come and make a barrier around him.

D. Personal Barriers - As he builds the structure a bunch of persons come and make a barrier around him.

i. Lack of Confidence - Golu then challanges everyone to play the giant mouth organ, but everyone is very shy and there is lack of confidence.

ii. Fear of Challange - They get fear of challange and everyone starts crying.

iii. Unwillingness to Communicate - When Golu tries and asks whats wrong, there is unwillingness to communicate and they continue crying.

Lack of Proper Incentives - He says that he will give one lakh rupees as incentive if anyone is willing to talk instead of cry, so one person agrees and takes the proper incentive.

Measures to Overcome Communication Barriers

A

You are Golu. Golu wants communicate over barrier. So he goes to buy communicator. Imagine Munich Square.

1. Clarifying the Ideas before Communication - At sun rise, he goes to idea shop and clarifies with them before buyinng communicator whether they have communicator.

2. Communicate According to the Needs of the Reciever - The vendor says there is a new communicator in the market, where you can put the reciever in your shoe, according to need and communicate all the time hands free as per need.

3. Consult Others Before Communicating - Its very expensive, so he goes outside where there is a big tree and consults with others (random people on the street) before buying communicator.

4. Be Aware of Languages, Tone and Content of Messages - Everyone speaks in different languages tones and content so Golu doesn’t understand. He goes back to the store, closes the door behind him asks the vendor to make him aware of different languages, ring tones, messages, content of communicator.

5. Convey Things of Help and Value to Listeners - The vendor doesn’t respond. So Golu takes out knife and asks him to convey things of help and value. The communicator suddenly starts working and you listen to a song but there is lot of cracking.

6. Ensure Proper Feedback - All of you start working and apply vicks on the communicator to ensure proper feedback. Feedback becomes proper and the sound of the song fills the entire store. He then reaches to see their food at the back.

7. Communicate for Present as well as Future - Everyone gets very happy, so the vendors say we will give you this communicator in an oven as a present. Golu accepts the present, and as soon as he holds the oven his travels in to the future.

8. Follow Up Communications - He is in the same spot as earlier, but everything is blue like in tron. A person from the store hides his face with a plate and follows up on Golu. The person is trying to get the communicator.

9. Be A Good Listener - He follows Golu all the way to his house. Golu, in his house opens a wine bottle and releaxes and turns the communicator on and simply listens. He says these are the good times, and just sits and listens to good music.
