Tests for H.Pylori

A

Radiolabelled urea breathing test

  • If urease enzyme present due to h.pylori then radio labelled CO2 will be breathed off
  • This enzyme makes ammonia and CO2 to neutralise acid in stomach to help h.pylori survive

CLO test
- Biopsy taken and tested with dye which changes colour if H.Pylori present
