Test III Cells to Remember Flashcards
check on learning
teeth, oral cavity, cells line surface of dentin (form/maintenance)
odontoblasts
teeth, oral cavity, embryonic cells that form the enamel
ameloblasts
root, teeth, oral cavity, make cementum, similar to osteocytes, deep portions of periodontal ligaments
cementocytes
secretion, salivary glands, secretory granules with water, salt, enzymes, proteins
serous cells
secretion, salivary glands, foamy appearance with basal nuclei, mucus for lubrication of bolus
mucous cells

stomach; lines mucosa surface; different from goblet cells, appears foamy; makes lysozyme; half life of 3-5 days
mucous surface cells
stomach; mucosa; gastric necks, differentiate into a cell type moving into position
undifferentiated reserve cells
stomach; mucosa; mucous different than surface cells; smaller and stain darkly
mucous neck cells
stomach; mucosa; eosinophillic cells, pyrimidal shape; upper portion of gastric glands; lots of mitochondria, invaginations, microvilli; HCL and intrinsic factor (B12)
parietal cells
stomach; mucosa; deep portion of gastric glands; low columnar epithelium with basophilic cytoplasm; pepsinogen
