CLN - Co-ordination with Brussels, Amsterdam and Maastricht Flashcards

1
Q

A

Brussels ACC is responsible for L179 and L608 between FL55-FL245 east of the FIR boundary (east of RAPIX and SASKI) but not within the delegated airspace to the north.

9
Q

What is the S14P procedure for handling traffic originally planned at FL210- that subsequently requests FL220+?

A
  • Brussels/Ams contacts S14P to make an approval request and S14P decides whether to accept or reject
  • If accepted, Brussels/Ams are to advise S14P if the ACT as already been sent to TC JACKO
  • If ACT has already been sent, S14P will complete a Field 8 amendment and force offer flight to themselves
  • S14P shall then verbally cancel the flight with TC JACKO

Q

What is the S14P procedure for handling traffic originally planned at FL220+ that subsequently requests FL210-?

A
  • Brussels/Ams are to co-ordinate the traffic with TC JACKO
  • TC JACKO input a Field 8 amendment to ensure that the flight is correctly processed within NAS
  • TC JACKO verbally cancel the flight with S14 who shall reject the TDL

11
Q

What are the conditions for transfer of radar control without verbal exchange of radar identity with Maastricht/Ams?

A
  • Provided a minimum of 10nm longitudinal separation, constant or increasing, exists between aircraft
  • Aircraft must be equipped with functioning Mode C SSR transponders displaying discrete codes
  • Both PSR/SSR and direct radar-radar telephone lines must be serviceable

16
Q

What are the conditions for transferring traffic from S12 to Maastricht Delta on parallel headings at/cleared to the same level?

A
  • Both a/c are exiting UK airspace via SOMVA (C1)
  • One a/c is exiting via C1 and the other REDFA (C2)
  • Both a/c are exiting via C2 but neither is inbound to a German Group airfield
17
Q

If one aircraft on a parallel heading is cleared to a level within the Delta High/Middle sector and vertical separation will not be established prior to the FIR boundary, what are the actions of the S12P?

A

Co-ordinate the aircraft with the Delta Middle/Low sector (against another aircraft cleared into the High sector) or the Delta Low sector (against aircraft cleared into the Delta Middle sector). Unless advised otherwise, the aircraft should still be transferred to the frequency appropriate to the sector into which it is co-ordinated.

18
Q

When might LAC and Maastricht agree on the use of direct routeings and what conditions are associated with these?

A

During hours of low military activity. This agreement can be withdrawn at any time.

S12 should be aware that if the direct routeing results in aircraft passing within 10nm of the IBNOS A Area, then co-ordination with S13/14 is required.

19
Q

What are the conditions for Maastricht Delta transferring westbound traffic on parallel headings to S13/14 without telephone co-ordination?

A
  • Minimum lateral separation not less than 5nm
  • Aircraft not subject to FLAS are not at/cleared to same FL at the exit point
  • Aircraft subject to FLAS at/cleared to same FL on parallel headings are acceptable, with KK inbounds always positioned furthest south
20
Q

What are the procedures associated with failure of OLDI link and telephone communications between Maastricht/Amsterdam/Brussels and CLN?

A

Pilots are to be instructed at least 5 mins prior to transfer of control point, to pass data on the appropriate frequency of the accepting centre for the purpose of obtaining an ATC entry clearance.

If this is not possible, the pilot shall be instructed to inform Maastricht accordingly, who shall then hold the aircraft within its AOR. After a minimum of 10 mins, instruct the pilot to re-establish contact with the accepting centre. This procedure is to be repeated until an onward clearance has been obtained.

21
Q

What is the procedure for passing details of formation flights to/from Maastricht?

A

Maastricht handle formation flights with radar separation increased by 1nm, and so require a 10 minute pre-notification from LAC.

Formation flights coming from Maastricht - LAC are to be given 10 minutes notice so that the aircraft can be notified to Swanwick (Mil).

22
Q

What circumstances may result in the suspension of RVSM operations and what FLs will be used by Maastricht/LAC?

A

If individual FLs are withdrawn, for example due to severe turbulence, and subsequently RVSM operations are suspended, co-ordination is to take place between Maastricht and CLN. The following FLs will be used:
Even (westbound): FL320 + FL380
Odd (eastbound): FL290, FL350, FL410

23
Q

How far can an Amsterdam outbound be turned on contact by S14 without co-ordination?

A

To the right - no further north of M40 centreline.

To the left - no further south than 2.5nm north of the Amsterdam S3 boundary.

24
Q

What are the conditions for transferring/accepting aircraft to/from Amsterdam on parallel radar headings without co-ordination?

A

To Amsterdam from S12:
- Traffic must not be vectored more than 5nm either south/north of REDFA

From Amsterdam to S14:
- Traffic via NOGRO/ABNED shall be vectored so that the aircraft enters the lateral boundary of the IBNOS B area prior to LUSOR. Headings must be chosen so that the tracks are in the general direction of LUSOR/IBNOS
