What are the tendons of the patella
Quadriceps (superior) and patellar (inferior)
What are the articulating surfaces of the patella and their relative sizes
Lateral and medially articulating surfaces (lateral is larger)
What is the normal direction of a patellofemoral dislocation
Laterally
Three muscles to think about here: vastus lateralis,intermedius and medius
The medius counteracts the pull of the other two but it tends to waste away so the patella is pulled laterally more often

Medial and lateral
Both are wedge shaped
Lateral is more of a circle while medial more c shaped and is less likely to be torn as it is more fixed

Posterior comes forward and anterior goes backwards so they cross each other

Describe the surface anatomy of the suprapatellar bursa
Extends 8cm above the base of the patella
