The assessment will monitor the customer’s device connectivity to the WiFi network for 14 days after the Gateway is activated.
o The algorithm uses 14 days to ensure it has enough time to monitor the various behaviors of the customer and their devices during the week and weekend since those can vary.

• Reporting:
: Customers will receive an email with their personalized Home WiFi Assessment results (see Customer Experience Timeline for more information). The results will only indicate whether the customer is eligible for equipment to enhance their home WiFi coverage (actual score will not be provided). Periodic assessments will continue every 6-12 months as needed.

If a customer already has xFi Pods and the Home WiFi Assessment determines there are still coverage issues, can the customer get more xFi Pods for free?

A

Yes. The assessment will run with the customer’s current xFi Pods in place and identify if the home needs additional xFi Pods. If they qualify, the customer will receive the email notification with the link to order a free 3-pack of xFi Pods.

Can qualified customers pick up their free xFi Pods at an Xfinity Store?

A

No. Qualified customers must order their free xFi Pods through the link provided within the Home WiFi Assessment results email they received or through the WiFi Assessed tile in the Overview tab of Xfinity xFi.

What if a customer receives free xFi Pods and then cancels their xFi Advantage subscription?

A

If a customer receives free xFi Pods per their Home WiFi Assessment recommendation and cancels their xFi Advantage subscription within 90 days of signing up, we will charge them full retail price ($119) for their xFi Pods.

What is The Home WiFi Assessment ?

A

The Home WiFi Assessment algorithm runs for at least 14 days to monitor performance over time. It issues a score of 0-100 based on the following questions, with higher values indicating a stronger need for xFi Pods.

What is checked in The Home WiFi Assessment ?

A
  1. Configuration: Is the router in bridge mode? Are your 2.4 and 5 GHz bands enabled? Are your SSIDs combined?
  2. Connected Clients: How many clients are connected to each band?
  3. RSSI (Receive Strength Signal Indicator): Measures clients at different WiFi signal quality across both 2.4 and 5 GHz bands, as well as time in bad RSSI.
  4. Phy Rate (Physical Throughput Across the WiFi Network): Measures best and total throughput at both 2.4 and 5 GHz.
    Note: Customers should connect all their WiFi enabled devices as soon as possible following activation. Following this initial assessment period, xFi Advantage customers receive emails with more information about their xFi network performance. Some customers may receive recommendations to further optimize their network.

After the WiFi Assessment is complete, the results are sent to the primary email address on file.

After the WiFi Assessment is complete, the results are sent to the primary email address on file. Depending on the results, a customer will receive one of the following emails:

• Email 1 - Coverage Looks Great
o Our results show reliable WiFi coverage throughout the home.
• Email 2 - xFi Pods Recommendation
o Our results show coverage could be improved by xFi Pods. This email will include a link to order xFi Pods at no additional cost. Once the customer completes the form, the xFi Pods will arrive in five to seven business days.

After the WiFi Assessment is complete, what options are available?

A

o Our results show coverage could be improved by xFi Pods. This email will include a link to order xFi Pods at no additional cost. Once the customer completes the form, the xFi Pods will arrive in five to seven business days.
o The three xFi Pods at no additional cost offer must be redeemed online using the link provided within the email. This offer cannot be redeemed at a Comcast Service Center Retail Store or Xfinity Store and should not be sent to a customer prior to their Home WiFi Certification results.
o Customers who want to order more than three xFi Pods can purchase additional xFi Pods at xfinity.com/xfipods. For additional information, review the xFi Pods purchase recommendations.
o If the customer receives free xFi Pods, they must maintain xFi Advantage on their account for 90 days or they will be charged the full retail price of the xFi Pods ($119). There is no return option.
o Customers will also see a WiFi Assessed tile in the Overview tab of Xfinity xFi along with a link to order the xFi pods.

  • Customer did not receive a home WiFi assessment email or is not satisfied with waiting for their WiFi assessment results to be completed.
  • Customer attempted to redeem xFi Pods through the link provided in the WiFi assessment email or xFi. but experienced an error during checkout.
