The survival vest is a fire retardant vest worn by the Helicopter Aircrew that contains a flotation, HABD and Survival items (water, medical kit, flashlight, knife, radio, HABD bottle, compass, MK- 124 flare, MK 79 pencil flare kit, sea dye marker, signal card, fox 40 whistle, signal mirror, and a strobe light).

The components of the LPU-32 life preserver include a Sea dye marker, Whistle, Chemlite, and manual inflation. The LPU-32/P Life Preserver Assembly weighs approximately 4 pounds and provides a minimum of 40 pounds of buoyancy.
