A

Troop leading procedures are a DYNAMIC PROCESS USED BY SMALL UNIT LEADERS TO ANALYZE A MISSION, develop a plan and prepare for an operation. These procedures enable leaders to maximize available planning time while developing effective plans and preparing their units for an operation

Implied tasks: become apparent as OPORD is analyzed, not inherent, routine or SOP (they are necessary to complete the task)

Mission essential task: must be executed to accomplish the mission

  • overlays
  • coordinating sustainment w signal
  • updating tentative plan (2/2 recon)

Ideally make final coordination w adjacent units and higher before issuing the order
