What is the anatomical position?
- Body erect and facing front
- Arms are hanging at the side of the body
- Facing forward
Which are the 3 main divisions of the anatomical plane?
Sagittal, coronal, transversal?
How is sagittal?
Vertical line dividing the body in left and right
How is midsagittal?
Divides the body in equal left and right halves
How is parasagittal?
Divides into left and right unequal sections
How is coronal?
Vertical line dividing into posterior and anterior
How is transversal?
Horizontal line dividing in superior and anterior
Which are the two main cavities of the body?
Dorsal and ventral
Where is the dorsal cavity? and what does it contains?
In the posterior part, cranial cavity, and spinal cavity
What is in the cranial cavity?
brain
What is in the spinal cavity?
spinal cord
Where is the ventral cavity? And what does it contain?
Is near the anterior surface of the body, its divide into two cavities separated by diaphragm thoracic and abdominal-pelvic
What is the thoracic cavity?
surrounded by the ribs, the sternum and vertebral column. HEART AND LUNGS
DIVIDED IN PERICARDIAL AND PLEURAL
What is the abdominal-pelvic cavity?
Abdominal: Between diaphragm and border of pelvic (stomach, liver, gb, pancreas, small int., kidneys, part of large int.)
Pelvic: under the abdominal, large intestine and below. UTERUS, RECTUM, BLADDER
Pericardial cavity
located in the thoracic cavity, surrounds the heart
