Q

What are the 4 steps for inserting an NPA?

A
  1. Size the device from the earlobe to the nostril.
  2. Lubricate with a non-patroleum lubricant
  3. Insert with the bevel toward the septum, slowly slide it in while rotating ownward.
  4. Check by listening for breathing

22
Q

What are the steps to setting up an oxygen tank?

A
  1. Crack the tank
  2. Chose the regulator and check the o-ring
  3. Be sure regulator is on zero
  4. Allign pins and hand tighten
  5. attach tubing
  6. open main valve
  7. adjust flow
  8. secure the tank
23
Q

What are the step to breakdown an oxygen tank?

A
  1. Turn off flow
  2. Turn off main valve
  3. Remove tube
  4. Bleed regulator
  5. Disconnect regulator
