Q

Milgrim’s method

A
  1. The participant meets experimenter and confederate and experiment is explained. 2. Names are drawn from the hat which is rigged to make sure the participant is always the teacher. 3. Student is taken into a separate room (can hear not see). 4. Experimenter demonstrates that shock are real by administering the participant with small electric shock. 5. Participant (teacher) begins to ask questions to which the confederate (student) answers incorrectly. Experimenter orders participant to administer a shock for every wrong answer, going up each time. 6. Student exhibits set fake responses of pain. 7. Experiment ends and participant is informed that the confederate was never actually harmed. 8. Participant is interviewed and debriefed.
