A

But does not know the order or which picture the vic/wit is looking at (the administrator should not be able to see the pictures handing to the vic/wit. A

ask how certain they are of the ID and a confidence statement is taken where the officer will use their exact words regarding certainty. If a sequential lineup the entire lineup must still be presented.

The procedure for the vic/wit in a show up lineup is?

A

If possible, transport the vic/wit to the suspect and notify the sts of the transport for ID purpose. Instruct vic/wit that the person may or may not be the perp and they should not feel compelled to ID. If ID is made ask how certain w/o numerical number. The officer will note the exact words to certainty. Sworn personnel will not confirm or validate the ID to the vic/wit.
