Q

What are the importances of chloroplast?

A
  • Chloroplast is a structure found in many plant cells where photosynthesis reactions take place
  • Green pigment chlorophyll found in chloroplast captures light energy for photosynthesis

Q

What is the use of glucose in plants?

A
  1. For aerobic respiration
    - Cellular respiration provides energy available for other reactions of life in plant such as growth
  2. For energy storage
    - Glucose molecules are joined together to make large insoluble starch molecules (sucrose)
  3. To make other molecules
    - Glucose molecules are the building blocks for other molecules
    - Glucose is converted into cellulose to make cell wall
    - Glucose combines with magnesium ions to form chlorophyll
