What does SPOV stand for and what do each of them mean

A

Specificity - Training must be specific for the sport
Progression - As a result of good use of overload principle, there should be evidence of progression
Overload - Over period of time the body must be put under stress for the effects of training to be felt. This can be done by increasing one or more of the FID
Variance - Training must be varied to avoid a plateau in performance and reduce boredom
