A&P Exam 3 (Res, Digest, & Urin. Flashcards
What type of exchange is respiration? Which systems work jointly to maintain homeostasis of blood pH? When air moves across the vocal cords, sound is produced. Where are the vocal cords located? What are the functional zones of the respiratory system and why are they important?
Gas exchange of CO2 and O2.
Respiratory and Urinary.
Larynx (voice box).
Conduction and Respiratory
Conduction zone is important because it conducts air into lungs while it filters, warms, and moistens air.
Respiratory zone is important because of gas exchange.
What is mucosa? Does the respiratory epithelium become thinner as it travels to the alveoli, or thicker? What secretes mucin proteins that increase mucus viscosity? What is the first conducting zone structure for inhaling air? What are the ducts within the nasal cavity?
Mucous membrane; respiratory lining.
Thinner
Goblet cells
Nose
Nasocrimal
