What is the definition of infertility?
Infertility is when a couple cannot get pregnant despite having regular unprotected sex.
What are some causes of infertility?
Causes include lack of regular ovulation due to PCOS, poor quality semen, blocked or damaged fallopian tubes, and medication such as chemotherapy.
What are the risk factors for infertility?
Risk factors include age, weight, STIs, smoking, alcohol, and stress.
What are some treatments for infertility?
Treatments include Clomifene to encourage ovulation, Metformin beneficial for PCOS, and surgical procedures like intrauterine insemination.
What is a miscarriage?
A miscarriage is the loss of pregnancy in the first 23 weeks.
What is stillbirth?
Stillbirth occurs when the baby is born dead after 24 weeks of pregnancy.
What medication is given to people who have had a miscarriage?
Bromocriptine (dopamine agonists) is given to stop the production of breast milk.
