A

Is a psychological theory that tries to explain why people do or don’t engage in healthy behaviour the model can be summed up in three questions that an individual may ask themselves

  1. how serious are the consequences?(perceived seriousness.)
  2. How am I to get the disease?(perceived susceptibility)
  3. What are the advantages versus disadvantages of taking this action?(cost. -benefit analysis which we up perceived benefits versus perceived barriers. )

A

The HBM is influenced by demographic variables such as gender, age , ethnicity etc. this helps to explain why a person may change their behaviour while the other person does not.

A
