How have diets influenced policies?
Unhealthy diets were found to be a contributing factor to crime. This has led to the government promoting nutritious meals, especially for children. Prisoners have also shown to have had remarkable reduction in anti social behaviour when there meals were supplemented with vitamins and minerals
How were the nazi’s policies influenced by biological theories?
The Nazi party believed certain people, more specifically certain races, were inherently worse than others and thus more criminal. This led to mass eugenics to try and weed out the supposed criminals
How have individualistic theories influenced policies?
Many individualistic theories state that criminal behaviours are learnt, opposed to naturally occurring. This in theory means they can be unlearnt with rehabilitation. This has brought rise to therapy and community sentences
How have sociological theories influenced policies?
Welfare benefits have been increasingly getting better to try and battle theories such as Merton’s strain and Marxism. Additionally equalling of opportunities, such as education, stems from the challenges marginalisation brings
