What are the signs on x-ray of of ACL tear
Segond Fracture. Anterior Translation of the knee.
What is the anatomy of the cruciate ligaments
ACL - Anterior aspect of the intercondylar region of the tibia (blends with the medial menisci to the lateral intercondylar ridge of the femur (intercondylar fossa)
PCL - Posterior aspect of the intercondylar region of the tibia to the medial femoral condyle.
What are causes of hemarthrosis
Ligament Rupture
Meniscal Tear
Haematological Disorders
Neoplasms
Ruptured popliteal vessel
What is the function of the ACL
The role of the ACL is to stop anterior tibial translation mainly and it also acts as a restraint for tibial rotation and varus/valgus movement.
