What is the structure and function of the menisci
A
Two crescent shaped fibrocartilages structures, sit within the knee joint and act to increase contact area between the femoral condyles and tibia during axial loading.

What are the articulating surfaces of the knee?
A
Medial and lateral femoral condyles articulate with the tibial condyles, primary weight bearing component.
Petallofemoral joint - Anterior aspect of distal femur.
