Acoustics Flashcards
(7 cards)
What is diffusion in acoustics?
Scattering the sound energy in many directions to preserve it in a room, reduces flutter echoes in room.
Which frequencies can be built up in a smaller room size?
Bass frequencies.
How does absorption affect the sound of a room?
Deadens the room.
When will a room resonate with the frequency being projected?
When the wavelength matches the length of the room.
What is natural pre-delay?
Time to go from source to being reflected into ears.
Define RT60.
How long it takes a sound to decrease by 60dB in a space.
Where should you face a singer in a room when recording?
Off-axis from centre of the room, facing towards the long side to reduce unnecessary early reflections.
