How does the Duchess act in her imprisonment?
“a behaviour so noble as gives a majesty to adversity… her silence, methinks, expresseth more than if she spoke”

“This darkness suits you well… Where are your cubs?…for indeed you were too much i’ th’ light”

“You violate a sacrament o’ th’ church shall make you howl in hell for’t” - she’s trying to use religion to get him to realise what he’s doing. Ironic because religion is inherently corrupt.

How does Bosola try to comfort her?
“Leave this vain sorrow - things being at the worst begin to mend… be of comfort; I will save your life”

“As I would wish, she’s plagued in art.”
“Why do you do this?”
“To bring her to despair”
How does Bosola try and stand up to Ferdinand?
“Faith! End here and go no further in your cruelty.”
