A

hepatitis, CMV, EBV, toxoplasmosis
paracetomal
malignancy
rarely wilsons or budd-chiari

jaundice

how is it diagnosed

A

LFTs would be deranged
US defines liver size
virology
liver biopsy, encephalopathy grading

how is it treated

A

IV fluids
increase calorie intake
for itch –> try sodium bicarbonate bath, uresodeoxycholic acid

A
complete recovery 
chronic liver disease
encephalopathy (? treated by lactulose)
prolonged coagulation
