What does a RP need to do?
secure safe and effective running of the pharmacy
display a notice: name, GPhC number and that they are in charge
complete the pharmacy record
establish, maintain and review pharmacy procedures
What must be recorded in the pharmacy record?
RP name
RP registration number
date and time they BECAME and STOPPED being the RP
absence: date, time the RP left and time the RP returned
How long should a pharmacy record be kept for?
5 years
How does RP absence work?
RP can be absent for a maximum of 2 hours during pharmacy business hours between midnight and midnight
- 2 hours even if there are multiple UPs
What actions can be done without a RP in charge?
ordering stock
receiving stock
putting stock away
date checking
stocking pharmacy with consumable
cleaning of the pharmacy
responding to enquires
accessing the PMR
receiving prescriptions
processing prescriptions that have been dispensed
delivery person conveying medicines
received patient returned medicines
