Q

What’s ALT mode?

A

When selected, holds the current (not pre-selected) altitude.

If ATC asks for an immediate levelof, this button can be pressed to stop a climb or descent.

Q

What’s PTH?

A

PTH is BARO-derived (from the altimeter) and GP may be GPS derived (from satellites), they may be different, especially when hot or cold.

15
Q

A/T limitation on T/O?

A

Ensure A/T is in TO/GA prior to 60 knots to not get an EICAS message

16
Q

When will A/T engage on ground? Flight?

A

Ground: No faults, armed, and TLAs past 50 degrees Flight: No faults, A/T pressed, and at or above 400 AGL

17
Q

Understand Manual Speeds vs FMS speeds

A

Manual speeds allow the pilot to directly control speed by using the speed selector. FMS speeds is controlled by referencing the MCDU and will follow constraints in the Flight Plan

18
Q

How does FMS speed pick which speed to fly?

A

Constraints. Will honor slowest speed programmed and limits

19
Q

Where does the FMS tell you what speed is selected?

A

Flight Plan on the MDCU.

20
Q

Understand Green Dot (define, operational use)

A

Green Dot is a continuously calculated speed based on weight, altitude and configuration

1.3g above shaker with 40 degrees bank protection

Single Engine Driftdown speed

Flap Extension Speed

Approach speed during an emergency

Green + 10 k to retract flaps if F-bug disappears

21
Q

What will happen when TCS is pressed on? Off?

A

• Press and Hold the TCS:
• Synchronizes the Flight Director with the current airplane attitude.
• Release the TCS:
• The Flight Director returns to the lateral and vertical selection when the TCS was pressed.
• With Roll/VS/FPA modes the FD maintains the airplane attitude when the TCS is released.
• Autopilot interface with the AP/FD button:
• If the AP is engaged, pressing and holding the TCS will momentarily override the AP. Releasing the TCS, the AP resumes airplane control.
