  1. Atherosclerotic disease
  2. Giant cell arteritis
  3. SLE

What are the signs of amaurosis fugax

A

Rapid fading of vision in one or both eyes, like curtain passing vertically across the visual field

What is the treatment of amaurosis fugax

A
  1. ASA ASAP
  2. Cardiovascular evaluation
    *identify the source of the embolus
  3. Carotid endarectomy or angioplasty with stenting if high-grade CAS
